As of December 2024, we're pleased to announce that Ortlieb's Bottling House, our historic office space and living laboratory, has been fully electrified.

Although our COTE® Top Ten Award-winning space is already a testament to the value of adaptive reuse, we remain steadfast in our commitment to sustainability and climate action on every project—past, present, and future. 
 
Making Ortlieb's fully electrified has been an ongoing process. Our two natural gas powered boilers were the final piece we needed to replace to achieve this goal. Our new electric boilers will efficiently heat our office and complement the electric water heaters we previously installed.  
 
Our ongoing investment in off-site renewables allows us to achieve zero net carbon. In addition to a number of passive heating and cooling strategies, Ortlieb's is an evolving case study for efficiency and mindful interventions in the built environment.
