Penn's Landing Pavilion

The new Penn's Landing Park will reconnect Philadelphia to its river's edge by constructing a transformational 11.5-acre civic space at the heart of the city's waterfront. KieranTimberlake's scope of work includes the architectural design of the central pavilion to house and support park amenities, including a café, skate rentals and support for the adjacent ice rink/summer plaza, and office space. Designed in collaboration with Hargreaves Jones, the Delaware River Waterfront Corporation (DRWC), and the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT), the new Penn's Landing Park broke ground in September 2023.

The unbuilt design earned an Honor Award from AIA Philadelphia and Merit Award from AIA Pennsylvania.

AIA Pennsylvania jurors were impressed by "the impact this pavilion will make as a civic anchor."

Partners James Timberlake and Richard Maimon traveled to Singapore to present the project at the World Architecture Festival where it won the WAFX Prize in Carbon and Climate and was a Civic Future Project Finalist.

Folger Shakespeare Library

The renewal and expansion of the Folger Shakespeare Library is the result of more than 10 years of planning to make the institution a more inclusive, experiential, and welcoming place. Built in 1932 and designed by Paul Cret, the original building was principally a research library and a repository for works by and about Shakespeare. The new design reflects a commitment to expand the audience, relevance, and future of the Folger.

Since reopening to the public in 2024, the project has earned several awards, including an Honor Award from AIA Philadelphia, Renovation of the Year Jury Winner by Archello, an Editor's Pick in Architect's Newspaper's Best of Design Awards, and Best of Best Restoration & Renovation from Architecture MasterPrize

The AIA Philadelphia jury noted that "materiality was treated with equal care, blending historic materials with new, modern elements that complement, rather than compete with, the original building's architectural presence."

The Folger was also featured on the June cover of Architectural Record.
