2300 Market Construction Reaches New Heights

New construction photos of 2300 Market reveal exciting progress on the 8-story, 225,000-square-foot life science research and discovery building.

2300 Market will weave together three facades: an existing brick building, the reconstruction of a historic terra cotta facade, and a new curtain wall overbuild.

Developed by Breakthrough Properties and backed by a joint venture of Tishman Speyer and Bellco Capital, the project embraces adaptive reuse and rehabilitation of an existing brick building and reconstruction of an adjoining building's terracotta facade.

2300 Market is strategically located between University City and Center City with close proximity to 30th Street Station.

State-of-the-art laboratory spaces will feature expansive city views.

The existing buildings, originally built for the Autocar and Locomobile companies, are complemented by a high-performance vertical addition to accommodate state-of-the-art laboratory spaces, plus amenities like a café, lounge, fitness center, and elevated terraces.

Center City is just to the east of the site, merging the commerce of downtown with the academic resources of University City.

The inflected form of the new overbuild will stretch across the entire site, weaving the historic Philadelphia streetscape with innovative and high performing design.

The terrace, shown here, provides expansive views of the city and offers an elevated landscape to the building occupants.

Strategically located between University City and Center City, 2300 Market will provide its tenants with convenient proximity to 30th Street Station, world-class research institutions, and a bustling commercial district.

The completed building will provide valuable space and resources to Philadelphia's growing biotech industry.

The project is targeting LEED Gold certification and is scheduled to complete construction in early 2025.
