On April 6, 2020, the board of directors of the National Institute of Building Sciences voted to approve the installation of four new officers, including KieranTimberlake founding partner James Timberlake. Timberlake will hold the office of Vice Chair of the 21-member board. The President of the United States appoints six members while the remaining fifteen are elected from the building industry community.
In a press release from the NIBS, Lakisha A. Woods, CAE, President and CEO of NIBS, is quoted as saying, “The work of our board members is crucial. We are convening agencies and groups across the building industry to lead discussions about the current and future impacts of the COVID-19 crisis on the built environment. We recognize the challenges we face are at every level—local, state, and federal.”
Timberlake was first appointed to the NIBS board by President Barack Obama in 2012. He looks forward to this new leadership role as an opportunity to help advance the building industry.
