Construction has officially begun on the Bancroft-Fulton Student Housing project at University of California, Berkeley

As lead design architect, we have been working toward this moment for three years. The 23-story tower will rise 276 feet above Berkeley’s Southside neighborhood, making it the tallest building in the city. This includes 1,625 new beds, a 500-seat dining facility, quiet study lounges on every residential floor, and abundant social spaces designed to support both academic life and community.

The design wraps the tower in glass-fiber-reinforced concrete panels and floor-to-ceiling windows, with a granite-clad podium anchoring the building to its urban context at the edge of campus.

Working alongside Clark Construction and UC Berkeley Capital Strategies, the project is on track for completion as early as summer 2028 and is targeting LEED Platinum certification.
